How Flor Financial Services Started
Flor Financial Services began with a name that has been part of my story since childhood. Growing up I was affectionately called “Florecita” a nickname that reflected both my name and the spirit of growth that would later become the foundation of my business. It translates to "flower" or "little flower" in Spanish.
I was the first among my siblings to graduate from college earning a dual Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Finance from the University of Houston Main Campus. From an early age I admired my father’s entrepreneurial spirit and always hoped to follow in his footsteps by building a business of my own. That vision eventually became Flor Financial Services,LLC in 2018.
I often say that I did not choose finance and that finance chose me. Somewhere along the way numbers began making more sense to me than most people and spreadsheets became less intimidating and more like trusted coworkers. What started as a natural ability to organize analyze and solve financial problems developed into a career that has now spanned approximately 20 years.
Over the years I have built extensive accounting experience across multiple industries while helping businesses create stronger financial systems improve organization and make more informed decisions. I genuinely enjoy the work because accounting is more than balancing books and reviewing reports. It is about helping business owners understand their financial story and giving them the clarity to move forward with confidence.
At Flor Financial Services I combine experience precision and practical guidance with a personal approach. I believe financial services should feel organized and professional without making clients feel as though they need a translator just to understand their own numbers. My goal is to simplify the process strengthen the financial foundation of each business I serve.

My professional background includes extensive accounting experience across several largescale and highly regulated industries including oil and gas, environmental services, pharmaceuticals, and law. Other fields of expertise include plumbing, electrical, residential and commercial property management, telecommunications, Recovery housing. Working within these diverse sectors has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the financial discipline, operational complexity, and regulatory requirements necessary to maintain accurate, reliable, and compliant financial records.
Throughout my career, I have managed a broad range of accounting responsibilities, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, budgeting, cash flow analysis, and month-end and year-end closing procedures. I have also ensured that financial transactions are properly classified, documented, and aligned with internal controls, industry standards, and tax regulations to support accurate reporting and informed decision-making.
My oil and gas experience has included managing complex cost structures, vendor transactions, project-related expenses, and operational accounting requirements that demand precision and strong attention to detail. In environmental services, I have supported financial processes related to project accounting, compliance costs, contractor expenses, and field operations. My pharmaceutical experience has strengthened my ability to operate within highly regulated environments where documentation, internal controls, accuracy, and accountability are essential. In the legal industry, I have gained experience with client billing, expense allocation, trust-related financial procedures, and the meticulous organization of records required to support both operational efficiency and professional standards.
In addition to supporting established organizations, I have worked with startup companies to build strong financial foundations from the ground up. This includes developing industry-specific charts of accounts, establishing effective bookkeeping procedures, improving financial organization, and ensuring that revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities, and tax-related transactions are accurately recorded. By creating structured and reliable accounting systems, I help businesses gain a clearer understanding of their financial position, maximize profitability, and establish a foundation for sustainable growth.
